Durga is a recent graduate from the American University of Sharjah at United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (minor in Applied Physics) earning Summa Cum Laude Honors. As an aspiring applied chemist, Durga is passionate about exploring the physical world across atomic, numerical, and astronomical scales. She conducted her capstone research in the synthesis and characterization of organometallic compounds for the detection of heavy metals in aqueous systems, working under the guidance of Dr. Sofian Kanan and Dr. Imad Abu-Yousef. She has also worked in the field of statistics, conducting research related to commodity markets, blockchain criminology, cryptocurrency networks, and NFTs. She joined the group to explore sustainable materials for advancing energy technologies and will begin her PhD program in August 2025 as a recipient of the President's Graduate Fellowship.
