Dr. Filip Anies (from Aug 2025)
Filip joined the Park Group in August 2025 as a Postdoctoral Fellow, under the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. Originally from Sweden, he conducted his undergraduate studies in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London (UK). He was awarded the Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson PhD Studentship Prize to continue his studies under supervision of Prof Martin Heeney. His PhD thesis, titled "Carborane-Containing Materials and Dopants for Organic Electronics", was awarded the 2024 Jon Weaver PhD Prize by The Macro Group UK (Royal Society of Chemistry) for the best thesis in Polymer Science nation-wide. He subsequently joined the KAUST Solar Center (Saudi Arabia) as a Postdoc in 2023, where he continued his research on organic semiconductors. His research interests include the design, synthesis, and characterisation of new organic materials with optical and electronic applications. As a member of the Park Group, he will focus on the use of artificial intelligence to aid the discovery of interfacial materials for high-performing perovskite photovoltaics.
